Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports
Attendance
Regular school attendance is a high priority for all students. It is important that our school maintain a safe, encouraging environment where students are engaged in learning and that being in school matters. Incentives are available to students as a means to reinforce school attendance. When students miss more than 20 days of school, they may be have the skills necessary to complete work in the next grade-level.
Instructional Materials
Conscious Discipline utilizes everyday events to cultivate emotional intelligence through a self-regulation program that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline. The Conscious Discipline practices that are adopted by our school family are Brain Start Smart, Calming Corner, Safer Keeper box, Greeting, and Wish You Well.
PBIS
School-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS) is a proactive, preventative framework designed to improve student outcomes and academic success by shifting the focus from negative behaviors to positive expectations and interactions. It includes defining and teaching appropriate behaviors, providing systems of support for educators, and using data-driven decision-making as the cornerstone of behavior problem-solving. Together, these elements create customized school systems that promote social proficiency and academic growth. In our K-8 schools, we integrate Conscious Discipline, a trauma-informed, brain-based approach that blends social-emotional learning, school culture, and discipline best practices to build safe, supportive environments where all students can thrive.
